The Boston Globe’s Let’s Talk About Food Festival returns this fall for its fifth year to Copley Square to serve up a day-long smorgasbord of fine food, cooking demonstrations and engaging discussions to area food enthusiasts on Saturday, October 1, 2016. 20,000 people are expected to attend this year’s event, which is presented by The Boston Globe and sponsored by Star Market.
Free to the public, the Let’s Talk About Food Festival is a lively celebration and exploration of all things food — featuring celebrity chefs, nutritionists, farmers, fishermen, educators, public officials and culinary experts. Scheduled on the main-stage throughout the day are dynamic demos that touch on some of the most pressing topics in food today. Also included are meet up groups, cookbook signings, chef Q & A’s,food trucks and more.
“Our continuing goal for the festival is to foster connectivity, literacy, education and public engagement around our food systems,” said Louisa Kasdon, CEO and Founder of Let’s Talk About Food. “The festival successfully engages consumers through a combination of entertainment and information for every food palate.”
The 2016 Let’s Talk About Food Festival is part of HUBweek, a week-long celebration of innovation and creativity taking place in Greater Boston founded by MIT, Harvard, Mass General and The Boston Globe. HUBweek 2016 is taking place September 25-October 1.
“Star Market is sponsoring the 2016 Let’s Talk About Food Festival as part of our commitment to delivering fresh and healthy food to the Boston area community” said Joe Kelley, Star Market General Manager. “The event offers a wonderful opportunity for consumers to learn more about the food we eat from area experts who are part of Boston’s food system, in a fun and festive atmosphere.”
Programming information for the 5th Annual Let’s Talk About Food Festival will be released later this summer.
